ODOR RECOGNITION TESTS
Odors: Birch, Anise, Clove
Saturday, April 25, 2020
Pioneer Park Center
1331 Talbot Court, Cheyenne, WY 82001
The test facility is a city-owned recreation facility. The tests will be held in the building gymnasium. There are no steps to enter or exit the building. Flooring inside the building is vinyl. The proposed entry from the parking lot is paved and there is no curb in front of the building. The proposed exit will be across a grassed area that may be somewhat unlevel to the parking lot. The building is handicap accessible, though some accommodation may be required. See below for more information on requesting ADA accommodation. The parking lot is fully paved. Dog potty areas are on a mowed field. There are no significant elevation changes across the site. Due to unforeseen conditions, such as weather or change in availability of areas at the location, the expected test area, parking, and/or pathways may be modified at the last minute.
This is a high elevation location (6100 feet above sea level). Maintaining adequate hydration for you and your dog at this altitude environment is important. While the test is late spring, the high altitude location means that sun exposure can still cause sunburn. There is no shade available in the parking lot.
Average temperatures in Cheyenne on April 25th are a high of 58 and a low of 33. However, weather in the high plains can be ANYTHING! Be prepared for any combination of freezing/snowy conditions to rainy/cool to hot/sunny. Moderate to strong winds are likely in April. On a windy day, gusts as high as 40-50+ MPH are possible. Interstates 25 and 80 through Wyoming periodically close to light, high profile vehicles such as semis, RVs, and travel trailers. If you plan to bring a light, high-profile vehicle, checking the weather and road conditions before you come is essential.
